reduce packet sign calls
reduce the number of times each packet send gets signed ... and avoids need to decode packet on each send it's very minor improvement

Default app background colour should be the same as the terminal background colour
On my Windows machine, it's an off-grey colour and on farms' Mac it is white, so it usually flashes rapidly and unexpectedly

Alternative ships need implementing
There are currently 7 ship models in total. It would be great if these could be randomly assigned to each player at the start of a game. Some ship designs require 2 thrusters instead of 1.

Currently there is some intersection between the effect and the ship model. The ship should be hidden by the glow of the effect.

cheap indicators
some "better than nothing" indicators that are cheap to calculate they stay close to the camera centre/own ship ... obviously worse than how they should be, but keep things playable
